Truly Bizarre 1977 Flying Saucer Encounter In Georgia Included Nude Entities Plus Jimmy Hoffa
Tom Dawson, 63 and retired, was walking with his two dogs from his trailer home to a nearby farm when a "circular shaped space ship" with a dome and portholes, 40-50 ft in diameter and 12-14 ft high, set down in a field in front of him, hovering several feet off the ground. He found he was unable to move a muscle, and his dogs, as well as the cattle in the field, seemed likewise to be immobilized. A hatch in the object opened, a ramp was extended, and 7 strange looking humans 5 ft tall emerged, five men and two women.
The first to leave stepped down cautiously, as if to test the solidity of the ground; then the rest followed, with two taking up sentry positions at the hatch. They were all hairless, with skin "as white as a flour sack," their noses were sharp and turned up, their ears were pointed, and they had no necks. One of the men and one of the women were completely nude.
The clothing of the rest-males and females alike-was very beautiful with silk like shoes with pointed, turned up toes. The humanoids cautiously approached Dawson, and gave him a kind of physical examination, placing on his head a skullcap with cords connecting it to a hoop bearing dials. They dropped his trousers and lifted his shirt for the examination, passing the hoop over his body.
While the examination was in progress, a loud voice came from the object, shouting three times " I am Jimmy Hoffa" (!) a fourth repetition was cut off, and the voice was not heard again. After completing the examination, all returned to the craft except two men, who walked about 10 feet away and "went into a conference." They had very shrill voices, and although Dawson was unable to comprehend what it was they said, he thought he heard the word "Jupiter."
He had the impression they were debating whether or not to take him onboard; at any rate, they did not, and the leader passed his palm across his chest as though to signal good-bye. They reentered the ship, closed the hatch, and took off. He saw the object rise to 75 feet, and then in a wink it was out of sight. Dawson was then freed of his paralysis; he ran directly to his next-door neighbor, but was so excited he could say nothing more than "space ship!" He was taken to a hospital and treated for hysteria.

1967 California
This picture, although a fairly clear shot, does not have a lot of details.
Taken on a Saturday night, a group of pals, Allen, Bobby, Rick, and Danny were hanging out when they saw this object that "glowed reddish-white."
One of the boys had a camera, and took this photo.

1967 Rhode Island
On June 10, at approximately noon, Harold A. Trudel was driving in East Woonsocket.
For reasons unknown, he parked, waiting and watching... he claimed that he had seen UFOs previously in the vicinity.
His camera was ready, and soon a disc-shaped UFO was seen coming from the West, in the direction of nearby powerlines.
The object then hovered over the lines.
Hiding himself behind brush and trees, he began taking photographs.
He took seven in all.
The UFO made quick moves from place to place, and Trudel changed postions to gain better vantage points.
He watched the object for around five minutes, until it zoomed off the the North.
The UFO was close enough for him to see a type of antenna on the lower part of the object.

1966 New York
Thanks to ofnava we have this information about this photograph.
Photograph was taken by Vincent Perna on December 18, at 16:30 hrs (Tiorati lake) New York.
Perna states: "Suddenly a rare object of bronze color appeared, making no noise and its size was approximately 6 meters" (diameter).
Vincent took 4 photos, a few minutes later the object disappeared.

1966 Missouri
Taken over Roaring River on November 22.
A hunter and two of his friends were camping on the river when an unknown flying object was seen rising from near their campsite.
Their tent had just been destroyed, with some of their possessions on fire, as well as a tree or two close by.
It is believed that the UFO was the cause of the destruction.
One of the men was able to take two photos as the UFO sped away, with one being too blurred, and the one you see here, which is of good quality.

1966 Michigan
Taken during the Midwest wave of 1966.
One of the best accepted UFO photographs.
The so-called "swamp gas" explanation given by Air Force investigator J. Allen Hynek would stay with him for some time.
Prompted by the lack of an explanation, and knowing that there was something to the Michigan wave, the US air Force used the idiotic explanation for the sightings.
Hynek would later regret the explanation, and go on to become one of the most revered UFO researchers of all time.

1966 Michigan
The "Swamp Gas" case.
This is the case that convinced skeptic J. Allen Hynek, that he must now publicly admit that there is something real in the UFO reports.
At about 10:30 PM, a resident of the women's dormitory at Hillsdale College reported a strange object in the sky.
County Civil Defense director William E. Van Horn responded and confirmed that a bright, glowing object was indeed bouncing across a nearby hollow and then became airborne.
Hynek, who died in 1986, dismissed the Hillsdale sighting as "swamp gas."
Within two weeks, however, he changed not only his opinion about the sighting, but also sides in the UFO debate.

1966 Utah
The pilot of a twin engine C-47 "Skytrain" transport aircraft of the USAF captured this red object on photograph in July, 1966, at 11:00 AM.
The aircraft was flying over the Rocky Mountains, at about 40 kilometers southwest of Provo, Utah.
The Condon commission, which concluded that UFOs are not worthy of scientific investigations, did analyze the negative at the time and concluded that the photograph shows an ordinary object thrown in the air.
Exhaustive investigation of the photograph concluded the UFO in the photograph is a real object.

1966 Australia
A Polaroid photograph of a UFO tipped vertically on its side taken by a businessman from his garden a few minutes after 2 PM on April 2 above the Melbourne, Australia, suburb of Balwyn.
The Victorian Flying Saucer Research Society (VFSRS) of Moorabbin, Australia, carefully studied the photograph and environment and concluded the photo showed "no sign of multiple exposure, montage or any other tampering."
The photo has been published on page 138 of the book "UFOS: A Pictorial History from Antiquity to the Present."

1965 New Mexico
Taken on April 18.
I have few details of this photo.
For 1965, it is a fairly good picture, quality wise.
It shows a discoid shape UFO with a top, and even an antenna can be seen on top.
Thanks to ofnava, we have the following information;
It was taken in Alburquerque, New Mexico, by Paul Villa.
It is one in a sequence of 8 photos.

1965 Oklahoma
A large wave of UFO sightings occurred in 1965 in the U.S. From coast to coast, strange low flying objects were reported almost nightly by people of all ages and walks of life.
As the year progressed, the number of reports rose dramatically.
On the night of August 2, 1965, thousands of people in 4 midwestern states witnessed spectacular aerial displays by large formations of UFOs.
That same night a multi-colored disc was photographed in Tulsa while several persons watched it perform low altitude maneuvers.
This picture was extensively analyzed, pronounced authentic, and later published by Life magazine and many newspapers.
Some UFO researchers believe this to be a hoaxed photograph, using a Christmas tree ornament.

1965 Ohio
Douglas Stewart's UFO was taken at 8 PM, July 12, in Athens, Ohio, with five witnesses.
At the time, J. Douglas Stewart of 100 Second St. Athens, Ohio, took this picture with a Pentax camera with 135mm lens with a 1.8x Barlow creating a focal length of 243 mm.
The film was Kodak Plus-X 35mm film, which was underdeveloped to reduce image contrast. (developed in D-76, 1:4)
This entire event was witnessed by Dr. and Mrs. William. Stehr, Mrs. Claud Kantner and Mrs. Scott Wilson.

England Woman Spies Metallic Unknown Craft With Two Entities During 1977 Incident
THIS interesting case came to my attention as the result of a promotion organized by the manager of the local Gaumont to publicise the opening in Bournemouth of the famed movie, Close Encounters of the Third Kind.
The idea was to invite a number of local people, who had experienced UFO phenomena, to be guests at the film's opening night.
To this-end, the local newspaper published an appeal for witnesses to send written reports of their sightings to me, my job being to sort the wheat from the chaff and put forward the names of the most worthy applicants.
Among the reports I received was this one, which I felt was sufficiently strange to warrant proper investigation.
I therefore visited the witness on Wednesday 22nd March, taping our conversation, and paid her a further visit on Thursday 6th April to tidy up some points and take photographs.
The local reporter, who had written the original appeal, contacted me for details of any interesting cases which might have come to light, and I mentioned this case.
The result was a back page splash in the local paper, followed by nationwide coverage in the London dailies, a situation which the witness had not wanted.
Before writing to me she had reported her sightings to no-one.
Witness
The lone witness of this event is Mrs. Ethel May Field, 62, a housewife of Sea View Road, Parkstone, Poole, Dorset.
Her husband, Maurice, 68, and daughter, Teresa, 24, were indoors watching television when the sighting occurred and noticed nothing unusual.
Event
The exact date of the sighting is not known, but Mrs. Field does recall that it occurred during the latter part of September, 1977, at about 11 p.m.
She had gone out to the back garden to take in washing from the clothes-line, when she heard a humming sound which prompted her to look at the sky, which was clear.
Approaching from a SSW direction was a round object with a dome on top.
There could have been "something on the dome", but owing to the swiftness of events, Mrs. Field could say no more on this point.
The object was emitting light of a brilliant intensity — the object itself glowing with a "greyish" colour, whilst from around the perimeter of the disc, light of a much more brilliant "bluey-yellow" colour beamed downward, giving the overall impression of an umbrella shape.
This light did not illuminate anything on the ground, and Mrs. Field did not notice how far down it extended.
Beneath the object, Mrs. Field thought she saw a "patterned" effect, but was unsure on this point and unable to elaborate.
The object's size was difficult to determine, but Mrs. Field eventually decided that it must have been the width of her garden (22 ft.).
The altitude was another problem, but Mrs. Field agreed that the object could not have been, very high up, as she was able to observe occupants within the dome.
This dome had two "windows," which did not occupy the full area of the structure, but extended to about two-thirds its height and one quarter its circumference.
Standing at these windows were two humanoid occupants, one at each window.
As the UFO reached a point immediately above the far end of the garden, it hovered for a moment, and Mrs. Field put up her hands, palms outwards, to shade her eyes from the brilliant light.
At this point she felt a slight sensation of heat on her hands and a trembling or vibration of the ground which lasted just a second or two.
Alarmed, she wondered whether there was about to be an earth-quake, and expected people to come running from their houses, but no-one else seemed to notice it.
The two figures inside the object were of normal proportions and were wearing silver suits with head wear of the same color which covered all but the face.
This headwear appeared not to be part of the suit; Mrs. Field thought she detected a collar.
She did not notice any buttons or fasteners, but was definite that the headwear came to a point at the forehead.
The faces of the entities appeared to possess slender features, and Mrs. Field had the impression that both were male.
As she could see almost to the waist, the arms were visible, also of normal appearance.
The hands appeared to match the colour of the suit, suggesting that gloves were being worn, but Mrs. Field was not absolutely certain about this.
The cabin was lit by apparently "normal" lighting, the color of our own domestic lighting.
The entity on the right-hand side, as Mrs. Field looked at them, appeared to be operating controls.
Mrs. Field did not actually see any controls, but as the figure was looking downwards with his hands engaged in some activity immediately below the window, she assumed this to be the case.
The other entity, however, was looking directly at Mrs. Field.
He moved over slightly and made a down-pointing gesture with his right hand which Mrs. Field interpreted as an intention to land.
Being alone, and now alarmed, she turned and ran back towards the house, pausing for a moment at the door to glance back just in time to see the object speeding away in a NW direction.
The total duration of the sighting could have been no more than 20 or 30 seconds.
Mrs. Field rushed indoors where her husband and daughter were watching television. (No interference with their reception had occurred.)
She tried to tell them of her experience, but they just laughed at her.
When Mrs. Field said she would phone the local paper about her sighting, her daughter dissuaded her, as she felt people would ridicule them.
The story was, therefore, reported to no-one until Mrs. Field wrote to me.
Physical Effects
When I first arrived at Mrs. Field's home, she apologized for being unable to shake hands with me as she had a skin infection.
At the end of our interview she told me that this trouble had begun the week following her sighting with a spot in the palm of her left hand.
This had spread and worsened until both hands were raw and very painful.
Her doctor-diagnosed dermatitis, and treated her for this.
I examined her hands and found them to be very dry with the skin peeling.
At no time did Mrs. Field claim that this condition had been caused by her UFO experience.
She mentioned it only as an afterthought and said she was "keeping an open mind" about the cause.
However, bearing in mind that (a) during her sighting Mrs. Field shielded her eyes from the intense light of the object WITH PALMS FACING OUTWARDS:
(b) she felt a slight sensation of HEAT ON HER HANDS whilst doing this;
(c) the trouble developed the week following her sighting and she had never before suffered from a condition of this kind, and
(d) my dictionary definition of dermatitis is "inflammation of the skin by localised irritation, eg., external burning by the sun, X-rays, etc."
1 felt it worth presenting this as tentative evidence of a possible UFO-related physical after-effect.
Media Coverage
Newspaper reports of the case contained inaccuracies, exaggerations and downright fabrications.
One report said that "a saucer swooped on her" — a totally inaccurate and misleading statement.
Reports of "burns" were gross exaggerations of the actual condition of her hands.
But the worst example of press distortion was the widely publicized statement that "coastguards saw it too."
This was just not true.
It arose when a reporter from Radio Solent visited Mrs. Field and happened to mention that his father,, an auxiliary coastguard, once saw a UFO.
This case had been widely reported at the time.
That such a chance remark could be so grossly distorted is, to me, incredible.
Conclusions
I have no reason to believe that the story told by Mrs. Field is other than the complete truth.
She wanted no publicity, her family laughed at her, and she made no play at all of the condition of her hands, a point she could easily have used as direct evidence in her favor.
She co-operated willingly with me, but now wishes to see no more reporters or investigators.
If her story seems a little lacking in precise detail, it must be borne in mind that she was suddenly confronted with a phenomenon totally outside her experience, that she was alarmed, and only observed it for a brief period of time before running to the house.
My view is that here we have a very normal 62-year-old housewife, of limited vocabulary, attempting to describe an event which was real to her.
And that is surely what matters.

Robot Entities Prominent In 1977 Brazil Flying Saucer Abduction Case
We are indebted to Field Investigator Irene Granchi of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, for the details of an alleged and very bizarre abduction case.
With her characteristic thoroughness, Mrs. Granchi forwarded translations of the complete texts of the newspaper stories from "0 Dia" which initially carried the story and which included a number of errors which she cleared up before submitting her final report.
The details follow:
Mrs. Granchi first traveled to Paciencia, the site of the incident (about 45 kilometers or about 28 miles from Rio) on Saturday, October 8, and interviewed Dr. Neli Carbonel, who examined the victim.
However, she (Mrs. Granchi) was not able to interview the percipient, Antonio La Rubia, as he was still very upset.
He promised to come to Rio when he was feeling better and talk to Mrs. Granchi and on October 18th he arrived at her home with his brother Arnaldo.
Because she had only 40 minutes to devote to him, as she had to go to the Cultura to teach her classes, this is more or less a preliminary report. Mrs. Granchi intends to do further work on the case and if further pertinent information is forthcoming, it will be published in the Bulletin.
Antonio La Rubia habitually arises at 2:00 a.m., brushes his teeth, washes and leaves his home at 2:15 or 2:20 a.m.
On the morning in question he feels he must have left at 2:20 for that was when his watch stopped.
He walked to a large field near his home and when he got to the near corner of it, he stopped short, for in the field sat an object which he estimated to be 70 meters (235 feet) across, at least, as the field is 70 meters across and the object's bulk extended beyond the boundaries of the field.
Antonio thought the object, which was a dull leaden color and shaped like a hat, was resting on the ground.
However, a search made by Mrs. Granchi and Antonio at a later date revealed no vestiges of a landing, such as impressions, burned grass, etc., although Mrs. Granchi feels they could have missed them.
As soon as Mr. La Rubia realized what he was seeing (he had never believed in the existence of UFOs previously) he decided to run back home.
(Initially, La Rubia thought the object was the bus he had to ride to go to the terminal of the Oriental Bus Company where he was employed as a bus driver.)
Antonio was unable to run, however, for at the moment he decided to retreat, an intensely bright light lit up the area.
La Rubia was standing by an electric pole which became illuminated by the brilliant blue light.
At that moment Antonio saw three "robots" positioned near him.
They were one meter, 40 centimeters (about four feet) tall, but their antennae, which jutted out of the middle (tops) of their heads extended far enough to extend beyond his height (which is approximately five feet, five inches).
The heads of the creatures were shaped like American footballs, with a band extending across the middle, horizontally, which looked like a row of small mirrors of a blue shade, one a little darker than the others.
The bodies, Antonio said, were stocky, the trunk broader than his own (he is muscular, but of slender build).
They had appendages for arms which he compared to elephants' trunks, and which narrowed down to pointed tips, resembling one finger.
Their bodies were made of a rough substance resembling scales.
Antonio, when questioned, said he didn't think the scales were "armor", for the robots moved around freely and the "scales" did not seem to impede them in any way.
The trunks were rounded at the bottom ending in a single leg.
Antonio's first impression was that they were sitting on something, but didn't feel this was the case.
This leg ended in a "platform" the size and shape of a saucer.
Antonio compared this leg and "platform" to the stools utilized on ships.
All of this outer part of the bodies looked like a dull shade of aluminum.
In the field, one of the "robots" stood in front of him, one at the side and another behind him.
When the blue light had come on, he could no longer move.
Antonio flailed about with his arms, but found, he was imprisoned in a "bell" (glass or Mason) jar.
Otherwise he felt quite normal except that he felt quite nervous.
He could not move, but the "creatures" floated along.
They were all of the same stature, but one of them was holding what appeared to be a syringe (an instrument used to give an injection).
This "robot" raised its appendage, pointed the syringe at La Rubia, and Antonio moved from his position without feeling it, toward the disc.
Although he felt himself moving toward the disc, he does not know how he entered it.
As he approached it, he felt a tremor, then found himself in a corridor of aluminum substance, and beyond it a wall.
Two of the "robots" went one way, one another.
He looked down the corridor, saw the field, and it seemed that the skin of the UFO was transparent and he felt the craft had lifted from the ground.
He got the impression the object was moving from south to north.
As he was looking back and out, a bright blue light came on again and he now found himself in a large, circular room.
The light appeared to come from the ceiling and became lighter in hue as it came down the "wall", until it blended with the aluminum color of the walls.
In this huge chamber he saw a dozen of the "entities" on one side and another twelve on the other side; reminding him of children in a classroom because their "single legs" looked like seats.
Antonio had been struggling all the while, unable to make a sound.
But suddenly he was able to shout:
"What do you want? Who are you?"
To his great surprise, all of the creatures fell to the floor and he assumed that the sound of his voice must have caused this.
The light came on strong again, blinding him.
He continued to struggle, partly from fear, but also because he had had extreme difficulty breathing since he first entered the craft.
He did not hear his own breathing but could hear breathing sounds coming from the entities which was puzzling to him as they appeared to him to be robots.
When Antonio began shouting, all of the entities raised their appendages to the tip of their antennae, holding them.
Prior to that, the antennae had been spinning so fast that he could not determine their exact shape.
When they held them, with their appendages, he could see that their shape resembled that of a teaspoon.
The only fixture in the whole enclosure was a small piano-like affair in front of Antonio.
It was a box-shaped thing about 15-17 centimeters (6 inches) in width standing on 2 supporting poles, which reached to the height of Antonio's chest.
At the extremity of the box, on each side (see sketch) there were antennae jutting up, and to one side, the keys, which reminded him of a piano.
There was also something that looked like a tin (can) on it into which the beings inserted some objects which they took from their belts.
At this juncture Antonio explained that the beings wore belts from which hung, by hooks, apparatuses which resembled syringes (injection apparatuses) which they inserted into the box (or "piano").
Each time this was done, an image appeared on the wall of the UFO in color, showing a different scene.
Antonio was shown a series of pictures in color and every time this was done, the being introduced the syringe-like thing to the "box", pressed a key and the picture appeared.
The pictures Antonio remembers are as follows:
1. Himself, nude, lying on an invisible (?) table, swinging his arms about, his legs lying straight and two of the beings examining him with their little bluish lights, directing it at his chest and head, with another entity examining his head with a blue light which had no beam. It made everything blue, including his hair (which he saw in the "picture").
When this scene was over, another being approached the "console", introduced another "thing" into it, and another scene appears:
2. Here Antonio saw himself, still naked, standing.
3. Antonio was dressed, carrying his shopping bag, his teeth were chattering and he looked nervous. No sound came from him, and one arm was swinging.
4. This picture showed a horse and cart, being drawn over a dirt road. Antonio did not recognize the location but there appeared a cart-man, a peasant, wearing a straw hat, bare-footed and with a torn shirt.
5. Antonio saw a picture of a light orangey ball with himself standing beside it.
6. In this picture, the "ball" was seen once again, this time bluish in color, with one of the "beings" standing beside it.
7. This picture is most difficult to describe and whereas we have condensed Mrs. Granchi's words before, we will use her entire description: "A dog was shovm, trying to get at one of those beings, also shown in the picture the dog was big, and slobbering at the mouth, trying hard to get at the being, unable to reach it and looked very angry. Then the dog gave out 4 or 5 barks. At this point, the being started to melt, from top to bottom, like porridge."
8. A factory was seen, apparently one of "theirs" where the UFOs (crafts?) are manufactured. The scene was white and stretched out, so he could not see the end of it. There were 3 rows of UFOs, the 2 on the right were UFOs nearly ready, and the one on the left were UFOs in the making—at the "skeleton" stage. There were "millions" of "beings" or "robots" walking around but Antonio noticed no tools.
9. This picture showed a train, like the Japanese trains currently being used in Brazil, but older, something the worse for wear, windowless, entering a tunnel, whereupon it was lost from view.
10. This showed an avenue, which Mrs. Granchi compared with Avenida Presidente Vargas, one of the busiest thoroughfares in Rio de Janeiro, jammed with cars.
Mrs. Granchi writes that Antonio's list seems to end here but that he described a scene he saw after the one where he saw himself naked, wherein he saw himself dressed, vomiting and passing stools in this trousers.
Fortunately the latter did not come to pass, as he was at home when he became very ill.
Antonio also told Mrs. Granchi about when the beings took blood from him; one of them came over to the center of the hall where he was standing, took one of the "syringes" from his belt with his right appendage, passed it over to his left appendage, where it started to rotate, spinning so fast that Antonio could not follow it with his eyes.
Then the gadget was pointed at him, whereupon his arm lifted, against his will, and the syringe was stuck into the middle finger of his right hand.
He saw the syringe filling until it nearly overflowed.
He was sure it was his blood for it was the only color he saw in the whole place—everything else was blue or white, or metallic-like.
He didn't understand how this could be, for he did not feel the prick and there was no mark after it was accomplished.
Then the being who had taken the blood pointed at a picture on the wall and drew three circles, presumably with Antonio's blood, and dissected them with an L-shaped mark (see sketch).
Mrs. Granchi thinks that the blood-drawing experience came before, or in between the showing of pictures for Antonio says that after the busy street scene was shown he was "thrown" overboard and fell into a street almost opposite the Paciencia station.
When he landed, there was one of the "beings" beside him.
All his belongings were with him, even his bag, which had not been with him on the craft.
Then Antonio looked at his watch, which read 2:20 a.m.
He was on the ground, looked behind him and saw nothing.
He then looked up and saw what appeared to be the bottom of a dark, smooth balloon, lifting up.
It was huge in size and ascended until he could no longer see it.
Mrs. Granchi asked if there had been additional witnesses and La Rubia said there was. but the man is a known drunk and therefore not reliable.
He (the drunk) told numerous people he'd seen a UFO that morning.
Antonio went over to Paciencia station, asked the time and it was either 2:50 or 2:55 a.m.
He set his watch at the correct time.
There was a bus passing at 3:10 and he caught it and arrived at work on time.
He felt ill and nervous and ached all over.
He drove the bus, nevertheless, but now and again his vision darkened.
He worked all day and again all day Friday, but when he arrived home that night he went to bed.
It was at this junction in his narrative that Antonio recalled another "picture" which he had forgotten.
In this one he saw himself with smoke coming out of his back, and the pain and heat which he was now feeling (when he arrived home) seemed to be connected with the picture.
The pictures he saw in the UFO seemed to have depicted all of the suffering he was now experiencing except the one where he passed stools in his drawers.
Antonio told his wife nothing of what had happened to him.
That Friday night his bowels were loose and he felt miserable.
The next day, Saturday, he was still very ill and missed work.
Sunday was the same—he could not go to work.
That night (Sunday) the burning feeling started, which spread throughout his body and was very painful.
His wife rubbed him with alcohol which relieved the distress somewhat.
On Monday morning, he went back to the bus company to say he had to quit, and he had difficulty breathing, was burning and itching and asked a fellow employee to hose him down with water.
His fellow workers told him he looked "as green as grass."
He told Mrs. Granchi that when he walked he had an empty feeling as though walking on a cloud.
This feeling persisted as late as 33 days after the incident.
The Monday that he was at the bus company and experiencing the burning feeling, the company nurse wanted to give him a tranquilizing injection but he refused, afraid that it would make him worse.
The personnel at the clinic thought he had gone mad and ropes were brought to constrain him and he was taken to the hospital where it was generally thought he was mad because he babbled about UFOs.
Before being taken to the hospital, however, La Rubia was given a hearing by the bus company psychologist, Dr. Nely Carbonell, who pronounced him psychologically normal but nevertheless called an ambulance to take him to the hospital.
Antonio was surprised when the hospital doctors pronounced him normal despite his extreme discomfort.
However, when one of the doctors visited him for his INPS (Worker's Employer Relief) and heard about the UFO, he called in six other doctors, saying that the case was serious and worthy of further study.
Also, Antonio was registering a high fever (about 103 degrees Fahrenheit) which could have been dangerous to him had it persisted.
Mrs. Granchi does some philosophizing which is very worthwhile but which, for the sake of space, we must forego, but her closing words are very much worth quoting:
"But the most puzzling new facts in this case are the showing of the pictures, not in themselves as such, but what did the beings wish to communicate ? This is the task for many specialized scientists to try to unravel. What message did they wish to convey?
"The simplest seems that, as we harm them, they can harm us. That there are many of them, as there are many of us. That they can tell our future but we cannot tell theirs. That they isolate people in an invisible bell (Mason) jar. And so on.
"Shall we have time to reflect on all this before they come over (arrive) in larger hordes?" Well said, Irene.

Flying Saucer Humanoid Turns Tables On Hunters In Spain During 1978 Multiple Witnesses Incident
One Friday in late November, 1978 (evidently November 24 — trans.), the four witnesses, plus another friend, were hunting just east of the Guadiamar River in the area between the towns of Gerena, Aznalcollar, and Olivares, in the province of Seville, southwestern Spain.
They each had a six-battery flashlight.
The night was dark, without any wind, with good visibility and temperature, under a rather cloudy sky.
One of the friends decided to return to the car, so he saw nothing of what subsequently happened.
The area of the observation is at approximately 6°20' west longitude and 37°30' north latitude.
It is part of the estate "La Pizana," 3 kilometers (2 miles) southwest of Gerena.
Its principal characteristics are: low hills with some farming, clumps of eucalyptus trees, vegetation located especially near the Guadiamar River, the remains of a Roman aqueduct, and beef cattle.
The place where the incident occurred is a very dense grove, primarily of eucalyptus trees, with some open areas inside.
Our four witnesses went into the thick grove, after having waded across the stream.
It was about 3:30 a.m.
They had been there several hours already, and, using their powerful flashlights, continued looking for their prey between the trees, following a road made by tractors.
But let witness Manuel Gordillo tell us what happened:
"While still on the other side of the river, I told the others, 'Wait a moment, look at the red lights of a car.'
The gypsy who was with us (who could not be interviewed — I.D.) began to say 'Hey, what is that?
In my mother's name, in my grandmother's name, what is that?'
'That is a strange thing.'
We were seeing it on the ground in the distance.
We put out the flashlights and approached.
The closer we got, the more light was seen, and then I thought, well it isn't a car.
If the car had its back to us, we would have been looking at the drivers, but since we were walking, it was not logical for it to be always red.
Then we threw it off the track a little.
We crossed the river to the other side, where it was.
We began to hunt and forgot what we had seen, enthusiastic in what we were doing.
I was practically alone, without hearing any of the others.
I shone the light here and there and didn't see anyone.
I turned off my flashlight and whistled for them to answer.
Then they turned on their flashlights and I said to myself, 'There they are,' because with the trees no one could be seen.
Then they came quickly and asked me, 'Hey, didn't you see that again?'
I really hadn't seen it, until they told me about it.
What we had seen from the other side was still in that place.
There was really a light there, and then I told them, 'Are we going to get closer?'
They were very scared.
The red light was there and it was doing a strange thing, as if it was shaking.
Then I told them, 'Watch me from behind, I'm going to get a little closer.'
"The trees did not let us see the place completely.
Another companion wanted to approach with me, and we went on ahead of the other two.
There was a person or something walking around it."
It was not just one light, but a row of lights.
He could not see everything, and didn't know how tall the being was.
But his legs were very big, and he saw just the legs.
"The object seemed round to me, and it was near the ground, right close to the ground.
The lights were low.
They were about 3 meters (10 feet) high and they must have been about 4 or 5 meters (13 or 16 feet) across.
The lights were of different colors.
The man advanced about ten meters (33 feet) and we lost sight of him.
He approached again and grabbed something.
I don't know if he went in the object or around it, I couldn't see.
I didn't see any door in the object.
"I saw the man up to the waist, as I was stretched out on the ground.
The light was behind him, and I couldn't make out well what he was wearing.
It seemed to me he was wearing shoes or boots, and he was speaking.
The voice seemed as if he was in a deep well, it was like 'Mnn, mmm.'
The steps were slow, he came toward where we were and went back. I was a little afraid, and I thought of my wife and my children, so I didn't feel very safe.
"The object was about 30 meters (100 feet) away, and the man approached us.
Finally, we got out of there very scared.
We no longer felt like hunting.
So we left running, and I fell and the others fell on top of me."
From Francisco Lopez Rivero's testimony we can indicate the following:
This witness remained behind his companion, and observed the scene in a similar manner, though with additional details.
The object seemed to him like a large earthen jar, upside down, with a red light on top, stationary.
Toward the center of the object he saw several rows of lights of different colors, green , orange, red, and yellow.
A little below he observed some bright-colored, silvery legs.
He had the impression that at the height of the man's eyes and mouth there was a window, like on a motorcyclist's helmet.
He only saw the figure to the waist, and didn't see any arms.
The helmet was black or dark, and the rest of the body silvery.
As to the sounds emitted by the being; as well as his movements, he agrees with the other witness.
He seemed to be a very strong and tall being, of some two meters (6'7") or more.
On Sunday, January 14, 1979, the investigators went to the site of the supposed landing with Francisco Lopez.
After certain difficulties in finding the spot where his observation was made, they carefully studied the ground and observed the following:
The place is, as a matter of fact, very wooded, and it is not easy to see.
Nevertheless, the exact place where it is supposed that the object landed is a rather circular area, where the trees themselves are situated in this curious geometric pattern.
The land was relatively soft, due to the rains that had fallen since before November.
They found no sign of traces except for a curious footprint, which seemed to have been impressed into the ground many days before.
After carefully drawing the mark, they measured it, and its size was 42 cm. (16.5 inches).
Several meters (yards) farther on they found two more marks, made in the soil, and they were the same size as the first.
The appropriate experiments showed the mark, in proportion to the height, would correspond to an individual some two meters, ten centimeters (6'11") tall.
The distance between the marks was about 13 meters (43 feet).

Scotland Flying Saucer Encounter In 1979 Leaves Witness In Search Of Medical Attention
The February 1980 (Vol. 28, #8) issue of the Bulletin contained a preliminary report on the alleged encounter of a West Lothian, Scotland forester with a strange object and equally strange smaller objects or "entities".
The "happening" took place on November 9, 1979, and the following is the information gleaned from additional clippings and mainly from the Journal of Transient Aerial Phenomena, Vol.1, No.2, March, 1980.
Strangely enough, the article was written by Stuart Campbell, the architect who initially identified the object(s) as manisfestation(s) of ball lightning.
However, it does seem that Mr. Campbell is being fairly objective, and the following are the "gleanings".
We refer the readers to the February, 1980 (Vol. 28, #8) issue of the Bulletin to save space and repetition.
Robert Taylor, forester, (sixteen years tenure with the Livingston Development Corporation) and now a foreman, left his home in Lothian at 1000 GMT in a Forestry Department van, to inspect young trees to the North of the town near highway M8.
As he could not drive the van all the way due to the density of trees, he left it on the side of the roadway and proceeded on foot.
Mr. Taylor, accompanied by his dog—walked the rest of the way, and at about 10:15 he rounded a corner in the forest path ( 100 meters from the road but out of sight of it) and came upon a strange sight.
Before him was a rounded object with a rim-like appendage (according to Journal of Transient Aerial Phenomena) not unlike a circular platform (see drawing, reproduced from JTAP, artist not identified).
At first the smaller objects were not in evidence, according to Taylor.
The larger object was hovering above the ground, neither moving nor making any sound.
The "thing" was dark grey with a texture similar to that of sand-paper.
It appeared to become transparent in one area or another, seemingly, to Taylor, to "camouflage" itself.
The "craft" was estimated to be twenty feet (six meters) in diameter.
Taylor said he stood, amazed, and stared at the object, then two small objects (apparently coming from under the large object) "rushed" toward him.
They had a color and texture similar to that of the "parent" object, but were outfitted with appendages (see figure 1).
They rolled on a horizontal axis and made a "plopping" noise as the "legs" made contact with the ground.
Upon reaching him, these objects each attached itself to one (each) of his trouser legs, just below the pockets on the sides.
Taylor felt them tug him toward the large object and at the same time, he said, he was nearly suffocated by a strong acrid smell which he compared with that of burning automobile brake linings and which he felt came from the "things".
Taylor became aware that he was being dragged forward and his boots were scraping on the ground, before he lost consciousness, and fell forward and laid face downwards.
When Taylor regained consciousness, the objects were gone, but his dog was with him.
He tried to speak to her but found he had lost his voice.
He tried to stand but his legs would not support him, so he crawled approximately 90 meters (300 ft.) back up the trail toward his van, and then unsteadily half crawled and half staggered the rest of the 430 meters to his van.
There, he attempted to contact his headquarters via two-way radio but was unsuccessful because of his voice.
Taylor then attempted to back the van up the track but unfortunately he ran off the track onto soft ground and could not get it out.
Using short cuts through woods and fields, he walked the remaining 1600 meters back to his home, arriving at 11:30 a.m.
During his walk between his van and his home his voice returned.
Upon seeing her husband's state when he arrived home, Mrs. Taylor assumed he had been attacked and started to call the police, but Taylor stopped her and had her call Mr. Malcolm Drummond, the head of the Forestry Department and his superior.
Drummond immediately went to the Taylor residence and he and Taylor went back to the scene of the encounter where they found strange holes in the ground which Taylor said had not been there before that morning.
Mrs. Taylor had noticed some unaccountable tears in his trousers in the areas where Taylor claimed the small objects had attached themselves.
Mr. Taylor was later examined by his Doctor who found only a "grase" (scrape?) on his chin and on his thigh.
The Doctor sent him to the Bangour hospital for a skull X-ray but Taylor checked himself out before this was accomplished.
(Editor's note: This may strike some readers as odd, but if Scottish hospitals are anything like American ones, any tests except for those required in dire emergencies, are only undertaken on weekdays and it is possible Taylor didn't relish a hospital stay over the weekend for an X-ray, especially if he had no pain in his head, and so far the reports do not indicate that he did).
The following excerpts were taken from the "Journal of Transient Aerial Phenomena" with their permission:
"The ground marks (see Figure 3) were of two types.
First, there were two isolated ladder type "tracks" about 2.5 m long and the same distance apart.
Each "rung" of the ladder (see Photograph 1), was 2 or 3 cm wide and deep, and about 30 cm long, and the area of grass between each "rung" was evenly flattened, but not as deeply as the "rungs".
Although the "tracks" appear to be impressions made by a heavy object, the indentations were only in the grass; they did not alter the ground profile under the grass as they would have done if subjected to a heavy weight.
The grass blades were each folded and formed to follow the outline of a rectangular indentations.
Secondly there were 40 holes surrounding the "tracks", as shown in Figure 3.
These holes all exposed fresh earth and were tapered from a maximum width of about 10cm, but at an angle as shown,
The angle was fairly shallow; about 30° to the horizontal.
A remarkable feature was the fact that the direction of the angle of the holes was consistent and always in line with the next hole in line.
Two distinct and related sets of holes can be detected, and it is clear that one set of holes proceeds clock-wise, while the other proceeds anticlock-wise, and that they are in tandem between the "tracks". In some cases, blades of grass surrounding the edge of a hole were sheared off.
No grass was scorched.
The marks were measured and recorded by the local police the same day, and the area fenced off by the Forestry Department.
The marks were photographed by Alastair Sutherland (a friend of a member of the Forestry Department) and by me, the following day.
Robert Taylor's clothes (including the trousers) were taken by the police for forensic examination.
Only the trousers and his long underpants showed anything unusual.
Figure 4 and 5 show the tears on each leg of the trousers, which are made of navy blue serge.
The right leg tear is about 65cm up from the bottom of the leg, while the left tear is about 76cm up."
